What Shopee's 9.9 actually did to prices
252 of 747 listings we had priced before the sale reached a price below their own normal price, the typical shelf by 8% — shallower than the 11% this feed reprices its whole catalogue by on an ordinary week, with no sale attached.
On 25 Aug 2026 — fifteen days before the sale — we wrote down what 750 Shopee Singapore listings normally cost, computed from 25 days of our own daily records, and committed it to a public repository where it cannot be quietly edited. Everything below compares against that, not against a seller's crossed-out number. 3 of them have no reading inside the campaign window — they left the feed, or we missed a day — and are left out of the comparison rather than assumed unchanged, which is why the figures above count 747.
On one shelf the sale did nothing at all. Not one listing on Ovens reached a price below its own normal price at any point since 1 Sept 2026.

Why the comparison matters. Shopee's product feed alternates between two whole-catalogue price lists and switches every item at once, with no sale attached. We have caught it 9 times in 52 days, moving prices about 11% each way. A discount shallower than that is not a sale price — it is the cheaper of two lists that alternate anyway. - Nothing about vouchers, platform coupons, shipping or bundle mechanics. These are the listed prices in Shopee's own affiliate feed, and a checkout total can differ from all of them.
- Nothing about the whole of Shopee. This is the slice that appears in the affiliate feed and that we had priced before 25 August — 750 listings, not the catalogue.
- Nothing about whether any of it is worth buying. These are prices; the judgements live on the pages that state their evidence.
- A listing absent from a day's feed is absent from that day's comparison rather than assumed unchanged.
